In the summer and fall of 2025, Maryam Majd Art Projects (MMAP) will hold a specialized online training program in curatorial practice, designed for those interested or active in the field of visual arts. The Curatorial Program is a comprehensive course that explores the full curatorial process—from concept development to execution—across a variety of formats within the visual arts.

The course begins on Monday, July 28, 2025, and will run weekly on Mondays over a 13-week period. Sessions will be held online via Google Meet, with each class lasting two hours. The final session is scheduled for Monday, October 20, 2025. Upon completion, participants will receive an official certificate of attendance.

To apply, interested participants must submit a CV and motivation letter by the end of the working day on Monday, July 21, 2025, to office@mm-ap.com. Further steps for registration will be shared via email after applications have been reviewed.

This program is tailored for individuals seeking to develop a professional and in-depth understanding of curatorial work in the field of visual arts. It is ideal for emerging curators, students in fields such as art, architecture, and cultural studies, individuals working in galleries and art institutions, as well as experienced curators looking to expand their knowledge and skills.

Topics covered in the course include an introduction to curating and foundational definitions; the evolution of curatorial practice from the mid-20th century to the present; essential hard and soft skills required for curatorial work; various types of visual art events and their specific curatorial frameworks; methods of curating archives; the social role and impact of curatorial practice; the full curatorial process from concept to realization; and key aspects of project management and content development.

The course will be taught by Maryam Majd, Founding Director of MMAP and Sarah Yazdanirad, Strategic Director. MMAP previously offered a Curatorial Foundations course in Spring 2024.
