Gallery Assistance Online Training Course and Workshop for Art Institutions

Education

In the spring of 2025, Maryam Majd Art Projects (MMAP) launched a new series of educational programs for enthusiasts and practitioners in the field of visual arts. Among the latest offerings was the “Gallery Assistance Training Course for Art Institutions.”

This course highlights the vital role gallery assistants profession and their contribution to the professional operation of galleries. It offers an in-depth exploration of the knowledge and skills essential for this position. Gallery assistance is an independent and valuable career path that can also serve as a stepping stone into curating, cultural management, or artistic production. As such, it deserves recognition as a specialized and autonomous profession within galleries and other art institutions.

The course began in April 2025 and was held over 11 weeks through a combination of online sessions and one in-person workshop. At the end of the program, participants received a certificate of attendance. The program combined online sessions held via Google Meet with an in-person workshop hosted at the MMAP office.

The course was led by Maryam Majd, Founding Director of MMAP; Sarah Yazdanirad, Project Strategy Director; and Azarakhsh Asgari, Archive and Collection Manager at MMAP.
